I find either of those happening many times when I put on a throwback film or watch a TV show that stars someone familiar. It makes me go "Oh shit, he/she was in that movie?!". It was kind of interesting, so I thought I'd share some with you. Some are more obvious than others, but at the time, I had no idea. Haha.
1.
Aaron Schwartz as Vanya, who is regular
character on Gossip Girl.
He also plays "Dave Karp" on The Mighty Ducks.
2.
Bruce Lee, everybody knows Bruce Lee, so
I don't need to go any further.
Not only does he play Kato in the Green Hornet movies,
he also plays Kato as a guest on Batman with Adam West.
3.
Remember Christopher Meloni
from Law & Order: SVU?
He also plays Freakshow in the movie
Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle.
4.
Dave Chappelle. We've seen him on The Chappelle's show,
Half Baked and Blue Streak.
Before "Rick James, Bitch!", he was in
the romantic comedy You've Got Mail with Tom Hanks.
5.
We've seen Drew Barrymore everywhere
like 50 First Dates and Charlies Angels.
She also plays Gertie in the movie
E.T.: Extra Terrestrial.
6.
Elisha Cuthbert. Famous for her roles
in shows/movies like 24, The Girl Next Door, and
currently in Happy Endings.
She also played multiple roles in
one of my favorite shows growing up,
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
7.
Gary Oldman played a wide variety of roles
throughout his extensive career. A recent one:
Commisioner Jim Gordon in The Dark Knight.
One of the roles he's played as that I had no idea he played
(and there are many) until I saw it again, was
Count Dracula in Bram Stoker's Dracula.
8.
Hayden Penettiere is probably most
famous for her role in Heroes.
She also played Will Patton's on screen daughter
as Sheryl Yost in Remember The Titans.
9.
Jackie Earle Haley played one of the most bad ass characters ever
as Rorschach in The Watchmen.
He also played the hippie, Dukes
in Semi-Pro with Will Ferrell.
10.
James Avery was most famous for Uncle Phil, on
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
This is also kinda weird, he was also Shredder
on my favorite cartoons growing up,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
11.
Jeremy Piven soared in
popularity as Ari Gold on Entourage.
Before that he made an appear in Old School,
as well as Rush Hour 2.
12.
Kylie Minogue is mostly known (to me) in the music business,
and her role in Moulin Rouge.
I saw this movie recently, and noticed
she was in Street Fighter as Cammy.
13.
If you watch Big Bang Theory, you'll know the infamous
Amy Farah Fowler, a recurring role as Penny's Bestie,
played by Mayim Bailik.
She was the star on TV's Blossom.
14.
Megan Good. Other than the fact that she is hot,
I really don't know what she's famous for.
I've only seen her star on My Wife And Kids and
multiple small roles everywhere else.
I also saw her on Friday lately.
15.
Everyone knows Michael Keaton and his role as Batman.
He was also Beetlejuice. Take a close look. Yeah, it's him.
16.
We all know Neve Campbell from Part of Five
and that crappy Scream series.
She also stared in Are You Afraid of the Dark?
in The Tale of the Dangerous Soup.
17.
Who is this dude beside Reese Witherspoon in Pleasantville?
It's Paul Walker from Fast Five,
Takers, Running Scared etc.
18.
If you've seen an episode of Suite Life with Zack and Cody, you'd
know Mr. Moseby played by Phill Lewis.
He also started in I Spy with Eddie Muphy
as well as one of my favorite re-runs, The Wayans Bros. as T.C the pimp.
19.
One of the best directors ever, Quentin Tarantino. Pulp Fiction,
Inglorious Basterds, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill etc.
He played the crazy-Armageddon-day-priest in
Little Nicky with Adam Sandler.
20.
Rob Schneider plays in many of Adam Sandler's movies, as well as
Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo, The Animal and The Hot Chick.
He was also in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
as Cedric.
"Cedric...don't count your tips in public."
21.
Vince Vaughn is mostly famous for comedic roles, like
Wedding Crashers, Old School, Dodgeball, Fred Claus etc.
He also played a role as Nick Van Owen,
in The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
22.
Keenan Thompson blew up in the recent years by landing roles
like Fat Albert and his regular skits on SNL.
Remember him as Russ Tyler in
D2: The Mighty Ducks?
23.
Remember the WCW Nitro Days and Kevin Nash
as the Wolf Pac leader?
Well, in his Big Daddy Diesel days, he also played
the Super Shredder in TMNT: The Secret of the Ooze.
24.
Ray Park is an interesting one because no one knows who he is
until you see the characters he plays. Except maybe his
role as Edgar on Heroes.
He also plays a number of popular pop-culture icons:
Toad from X-Men
Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra
Darth Maul from Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace
25.
Travis Ford, the head coach of Ohio State
isn't just a coach...
...he also played Danny O'Grady in the 6th Man.
I guess that's it for now. There are tons more obviously, but I'll
leave it at that. Werd, I watch too many movies and notice
too many stupid little things.
One.
image sources: too many, let's just say "the internet" lol
you should add Hank Azaria in Fresh prince - Mistaken Identity
